“Let’s talk about the flowers that bloom in the spring,” my mother would say whenever someone started to drift towards coarse in their mode of conversation. As my sister Laura reminded me, one of us was pert enough to once ask her, “why can’t we talk about the flowers that bloom in the fall sometimes?”
I don’t know where that line of questioning led at the time, but I must say that fall can indeed come up with some lovely offerings. Join me as I walk down the street in Ketchikan, Alaska, on a recent autumn afternoon.
Your ball, spring.
Beautiful
I think so too.
Hi Evelyn! A nice walk through the streets of Ketchikan sounds great! Enjoyed your photos. Outside my front door here, in Plymouth, NH, I have a confused Rhododendron, planted mid-summer, that thinks it needs to bloom before the snow falls. It has buds that are just barely opening. But, it has been that way for a few weeks. I’m hoping it has a better year in 2022.
Poor rhody! I imagine it will figure things out by next season. Nice to hear from you.
