Take a look-see:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/rightasrainonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Marys-hair.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-582\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rightasrainonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Marys-hair.jpg 768w, https:\/\/rightasrainonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Marys-hair-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Isn\u2019t it wonderful? Until she was seven or eight, Mary\u2019s hair did what you see here: grew outwards in all directions, a mass of beautiful, wild ringlets. As she got a little older it learned to lie down a bit, and it grew well past her waist. Eventually it got so heavy that she couldn\u2019t do anything with it, and for a few years she wore a shag (kind of like the more recent mullet):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"634\" height=\"660\" src=\"https:\/\/rightasrainonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Mary-long-hair-closeup.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-583\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rightasrainonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Mary-long-hair-closeup.jpg 634w, https:\/\/rightasrainonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Mary-long-hair-closeup-288x300.jpg 288w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 634px) 100vw, 634px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you can see, the cut made it thinner, but there was still a lot of it! By her early twenties she had cut it short, for many years she has had it like this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"499\" height=\"830\" src=\"https:\/\/rightasrainonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Mary-short-hair.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-584\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rightasrainonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Mary-short-hair.jpg 499w, https:\/\/rightasrainonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Mary-short-hair-180x300.jpg 180w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 499px) 100vw, 499px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At first, I griped about this, because I wanted more than anything to have my own hair grow waist-length and beyond, and hers did, and she didn\u2019t like it. Grass is always greener. . .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But now, I get it! Long hair is crazy, especially for us ladies of a certain age, and it\u2019s also cooler in the summer to have it short. Besides, she looks extra cute this way.
